Which working pairs are used in solar powered absorption refrigeration systems?
The most common working pairs are the aqua-ammonia and LiBr–water, however certain other working pairs have also been used in simulating the performance of solar powered absorption refrigeration systems. Some of the recent developments regarding these will be reviewed in this study. 2.1.1.1. Aqua-ammonia systems
How can a continuous operation based solar powered absorption refrigeration system be classified?
The simulation work conducted over the continuous operation based solar powered absorption refrigeration systems can further be classified based on the refrigerant–absorbent working pair used.
Can absorption cooling systems be integrated with absorption energy storage?
As stated earlier, absorption cooling systems are commercially available today, constituting 86% market distribution among sorption cooling technologies. Hence, integration of this matured technology with absorption energy storage, using the same working fluid deserves special consideration and research focus.
Can solar driven absorption chiller be integrated with absorption energy storage?
Many simulation studies on solar driven absorption chiller integrated with absorption energy storage have been reported in the literature. More simulation studies on new system designs and integration approaches suitable for cooling in summer and seasonal energy storage for heating in winter are required.
Can solar powered absorption refrigeration systems be classified based on refrigerant–absorbent working pair?
The experimental work conducted over the intermittent operation based solar powered absorption refrigeration systems can also further be classified based on the refrigerant–absorbent working pair used.
Can solar thermal energy drive absorption systems?
Application of solar thermal energy to drive the absorption systems is limited to its availability. The intermittent nature of the solar energy creates a shift between energy supply and its demand.
