Ashanti Tribe Live at The Blue Room

About the Show

The concert officially releases on the 4th of May 2022, but if you purchase your tickets now you will be able to watch immediately!

Couch Concerts is proud to announce another concert!

We had the privilege of recording the Ashanti Tribe at a recent performance of theirs at the Blue Room, one of Cape Town's newest and hottest live music venues. Ashanti Tribe put on an incredible show fusing contemporary jazz with Cape Town's unique local sound, with a pinch of Hip-hop and R&B influences thrown in for good measure. Despite a power outage in the middle of the performance, the band pushed through to deliver an absolutely wonderful evening of live entertainment. We hope you enjoy Nobuhle's selection of her favourite tunes from the evening, streamed directly to you in your living room!

Concert goes LIVE on 4th of May!

Who are the Ashanti Tribe?

Ashanti Tribe is a movement initiated by pianist and composer, Nobuhle Ashanti. A seasoned performer and student of music, Nobuhle launched her project in 2018. Growing up within Cape Town’s music industry, Nobuhle has been inevitably exposed to various authentic South African music genres (and sub-genres). Learning rich histories of the South African people came along with her music education, naturally, through studying legendary artists and their music. Thus, the fundamental concept of her project/movement "Ashanti Tribe" is to gather different artists, and together, celebrate heritage and heal together - along with listeners.
