Costa Rica Photovoltaic Glass Power Generation Project

Largest innovative photovoltaic generation and energy storage project opens in Costa Rica. The system uses solar panels to charge batteries during periods of lower energy cost and then, subsequently to deliver stored energy during the two peak periods when cost is highest. The Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) announced the construction of the largest photovoltaic solar plant in the country, following the approval by the ICE Board of Directors of the feasibility and implementation phase of the Colorado Photovoltaic Solar Project. The project will be located in the Colorado district, in the Guanacaste canton of Abangares.
